A crown by its very name, is a covering that sits over the top of a tooth. Crowns protect, cover, seal and strengthen your tooth. When a filling just won't do the job, we often turn to the crown.
There are many situations that may call for a crown:

- Large old fillings that have broken down or fallen out
- Cracked tooth
- Severe decay
- Extremely sensitive teeth
- A broken or fractured tooth
- Root Canal Therapy

Crowns (also called 'caps') may be the answer to your sensitive back teeth or the crack that a popcorn kernel just caused.
